What Is Gnome Battle: Size XL?
Gnome Battle: Size XL is an extremely lively "house-building" contest mode. Instead of collecting lots of small gnomes as usual, both teams now fight over a single Giant Gnome that appears in the middle of the map. Whoever controls the Gnome controls the flow of the match: use it to build your own Main House, or sabotage your opponent's Main House progress.
This mode emphasizes objective contention and teamwork: holding the Gnome for a long time and protecting the player linked to it is the key to victory.
How It Works
1️⃣ The Giant Gnome appears mid-map — the opening contest
When the match starts, a Giant Gnome appears right in the middle of the map. Both teams immediately rush to fight for it.
2️⃣ The first to touch it becomes the owner — claim control
The first player to touch the Gnome becomes its new owner, and the Gnome will help you build your Main House.
3️⃣ Build your house or wreck theirs — two ways to use the Gnome
While holding the Gnome, you can choose: use it to speed up your team's Main House progress, or destroy the enemy team's Main House progress.
4️⃣ The Gnome only follows its owner — whoever holds it makes the play
The Gnome only follows its current owner. So make sure the player linked to the Gnome is the one who will "build" or "wreck" — don't let the Gnome follow someone who is out of position.
5️⃣ Owner defeated → the Gnome changes hands — a chance to steal it
If the Gnome's current owner is defeated, the Gnome becomes ownerless. The first player to touch it afterward becomes the new owner. This is exactly why taking down the enemy Gnome holder matters so much.
Win Conditions
- Instant win: the first team whose Main House reaches 100% progress wins immediately.
- Win on time-out: if time runs out and neither team has reached 100%, the system compares both teams' Main House progress — the team with the higher % wins.
Strategy & Tips
- Seize the Gnome from the start: the opening contest in the middle of the map is crucial — prioritize having a mobile or sturdy Cookie touch the Gnome first.
- Protect the Gnome owner as a team: the Gnome holder is the enemy's number one target; surround them with Tanks and Supports so they can build/wreck safely.
- Focus on taking down the enemy Gnome holder: defeat the enemy Gnome owner to leave the Gnome ownerless, then immediately grab it.
- Choose to build or wreck at the right time: when you're leading, prioritize building to lock in 100%; when you're behind, consider using the Gnome to wreck the enemy's progress and close the gap.
- Hand the Gnome to the right Cookie: a tanky Cookie, or one with strong escape/positioning ability, will hold the Gnome longer and avoid constant interruptions.
- Watch the clock: when time is nearly up and no one has reached 100%, go all-in to push your team's % as high as possible — because the win or loss is then decided by %.
